Why this Strawberry Fields Salad Recipe is more tempting than a Cinnabon

Bobbie's Strawberry Fields Salad

I can’t think of a more refreshing meal for summertime, and a favorite of mine, than my version of the Strawberry Fields Salad. This salad is only carried seasonally at restaurants like Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans, but, since it’s one of my favorite salads I decided I’d make it at home myself.

It’s chock full of deliciousness and nutrition all at the same time. You’re getting vitamins, fiber and antioxidants, and to top it all off it’s both sweet and savory, and satisfies your sweet tooth almost more than a Cinnabon (notice I said almost),  all while giving you a filling meal.

I’ve included baby romaine, romaine lettuce, strawberries, red onions, bacon, tomatoes, chicken, eggs and pecans, and a pecan raspberry dressing that is bursting with flavor. If you like to layer your flavors and have them compliment each other, this is the perfect salad for you.

Strawberry Fields Salad

Serves: 4


                             1 (16 ounce) package of Baby Romaine & Romaine Lettuce
                        2 Cups fresh sliced strawberries
                        ½ red onion, chopped or thinly slice (whichever you prefer)   
                        ¼ cup dried cranberries
                        ½ feta cheese crumbles
                        ½ cup pecans
                        4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
                        2 grilled chicken breasts, sliced

1.     If you want it tossed. In a large salad bowl, toss together greens, strawberries, onions, cranberries, feta cheese, chicken, bacon and pecans. Otherwise assemble the way you'd like.
2.     Toss with desired amount of dressing.

You remember this term, don’t you, “Co-Washing” (It's so last year). Co-Washing is an abbreviated term used to describe conditioner washing, in which you actually cleanse your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo. I will say that at first I was a little skeptical, but, considering how particular and picky I am about the conditioners that I choose, because I don’t want my hair weighed down and I prefer a lot of body and bounce after I’ve completed the washing process, reverse washing only made sense.  Let me explain to you exactly the genius of this idea and how it works. And, oh, I love the softness and body in my hair.

Step 1:  Condition. Wet your hair and work in 2-3 pumps of the pre-wash conditioner to achieve maximum softness. You can leave this on for a few minutes while you shower, dependent upon the level of conditioning that you desire. Easy Cinnamon French Toast Sticks to Impress Your Family & Friends

It's definitely not Burger King, but, you can have them Your Way!

Whether i's for Breakfast, Brunch or even sometimes dinner. This is a recipe you'll definitely enjoy. There  is not a lot I can get the little ones around here to agree on, but, Cinnamon French Toast Sticks (food that you can eat with your fingers) is one thing I can and I don't mean from a fast food restaurant.

If you're ever struggling with the idea of what you can make for guest or the family, I believe this is one food that most can agree on, and to top it all off, anyone can prepare them,  they're so easy. So, what are we waiting for? Let's get to this recipe.


  • 8 Thick Slices White Texas Toast Bread
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of Salt (Optional)
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar (divided)
  • 4 tsp Cinnamon Powder (divided)


SliceYour Bread into 4 Slices, and of course its optional whether you want to remove the crust or not.

In a Large Dish or Bowl, Mix the Milk/Heavy Cream, 1 Tablespoon of Sugar, 2 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon, pinch of salt,  and 1 tsp. Vanilla thoroughly. In a separate dish mix together the rest of your cinnamon and sugar.

Now it's time to dip your bread into the egg mixture, be sure to shake off any excess, and place it in the pre- heated pan, and I apologize for not having a picture of this. I've got to do better, pictures make it so much easier. In a separate dish mix together 

Cut your butter in half and heat it up over medium heat. Place your Texas Toast sticks into the pan, and turn on each side until golden brown.

 Transfer immediately into the cinnamon sugar mixture and roll to coat. This will make the mixture stick better, by doing it while it's hot.

Complete the process until you're done.

Serve immediately just as is, since they've been dipped in cinnamon/sugar or serve with syrup. You can either pour it over your toast or  use a small bowl for dipping.

No Bake Watermelon Cake-Paleo Diet Friendly-Fresh Fruit

I love this for so many reasons. Number one being it is NO-Bake, Number 2, there are so many different adaptations of the recipe that you can do in terms of toppings, and as of late, I have even seen a 3-Layered Watermelon, Canteloupe, and Honeydew Melon Cake, definitely on my list to try either next, or after I do the Watermelon Cupcakes, which is just the cutest idea. Because summer is fast approaching it is time to put your seasonal summer produce to use.

So, on to the good stuff, yes, this is really a cake made with a fresh watermelon (seedless), Cool Whip Topping and it is extremely easy to put together.

All you need to make this cake is a Large Seedless Watermelon, some sliced almonds or, toasted coconut (whichever you prefer), Cool Whip Whipped Topping, and Greek Honey Vanilla Yogurt (which I gently folded into the Cool Whip to get a thicker Icing). The first thing you’ll need to do is slice the watermelon into the shape of a cake, which will create the base, and your whip cream mix will create your frosting.

In order to create your base, cut a ½ inch to an inch off of each end of the watermelon, at this point you should be able to sit it flat (be sure to use plenty of paper towels under this, as it will be very juicy.  If your cake is still too tall, just slice more off of the top.  Once you have your watermelon sitting upright, take a sharp knife and slice completely around the perimeter of the watermelon removing the rind. It should look like this:  

After you have carefully folded your Greek Yogurt into your Cool Whip, it is now time to apply the frosting. After applying the frosting, add your sliced almonds or shredded coconut.

Tips: Best served within a few hours of assembly, but, will definitely hold up overnight. Be sure to pat the watermelon dry with paper towels before applying frosting, and if you’ll be refrigerating overnight, you may want to put a couple of paper towels under parchment paper to catch any excess liquid. Enjoy!!!


-      1 large seedless watermelon
-      Cool Whip Lite, 12 oz. Whipped Topping
-      Greek Gods, Greek Yogurt, Honey Vanilla 12 oz.
-      1 cup of Sliced Almonds
-      Seasonal Fresh Fruit (for topping)
