Why this Strawberry Fields Salad Recipe is more tempting than a Cinnabon

I can’t think of a more refreshing meal for summertime, and a favorite of mine, than my version of the Strawberry Fields Salad. This salad is only carried seasonally at restaurants like Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans, but, since it’s one of my favorite salads I decided I’d make it at home myself.

It’s chock full of deliciousness and nutrition all at the same time. You’re getting vitamins, fiber and antioxidants, and to top it all off it’s both sweet and savory, and satisfies your sweet tooth almost more than a Cinnabon (notice I said almost),  all while giving you a filling meal.

I’ve included baby romaine, romaine lettuce, strawberries, red onions, bacon, tomatoes, chicken, eggs and pecans, and a pecan raspberry dressing that is bursting with flavor. If you like to layer your flavors and have them compliment each other, this is the perfect salad for you.


Strawberry Fields Salad

Serves: 4

Ingredients


                             1 (16 ounce) package of Baby Romaine & Romaine Lettuce
                        2 Cups fresh sliced strawberries
                        ½ red onion, chopped or thinly slice (whichever you prefer)   
                        ¼ cup dried cranberries
                        ½ feta cheese crumbles
                        ½ cup pecans
                        4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
                        2 grilled chicken breasts, sliced

1.     If you want it tossed. In a large salad bowl, toss together greens, strawberries, onions, cranberries, feta cheese, chicken, bacon and pecans. Otherwise assemble the way you'd like.
2.     Toss with desired amount of dressing.
